Myanmar has a long tradition of Spa treatments, so much so that for many it has become a daily part of life. The most visible of which is the Thanaka, a thick yellow paste that is commonly smeared on the face. As with many traditions in Myanmar, this has been elevated to an art form and it is not uncommon to see women and children adorned in elaborate patterns. Thanaka boasts excellent healing prosperities, cooling and rejuvenating the skin.
